Audrain County Courthouse

Mexico is the county seat of Audrain County.  Built in 1950, the current Audrain County Courthouse is the third to stand in the middle of the Square.  Around the grounds are a replica of the Statue of Liberty; the Frederick Whitcomb Fountain; a monument to Audrain County veterans; and a monument to Operation Tiger, a WWII tragedy involving Audrain County residents.
