The first Mexico City Hall was built in 1885, and a fire station was added on to it in 1906. In June of 1970, the city completed renovation of the old Kaiser office building and operations moved to the new City Hall. A fire station was added to this building in 1975, after which the original building was razed. Public Safety, located in the basement, was renovated in 1984.
In 1974, a resolution was adopted allowing the bell from the former building to be moved to the new location; today, it stands next to the entrance of City Hall.
| This City Hall stood one block off of the Village Square from 1885-1970. |
